CCS Health Week begins on Monday November 12th – see below for our fun-filled schedule!

Monday 12th November- Motivating Monday

  • Staff and Student Council members wear t- shirts with Health Promotion slogans
  • Free samples of Vegetarian Curry from the Canteen in the Cafeteria at 1:15pm
  • Team Health Challenges: Class Ciara Period 7 and Class Doireann Period 8 in Library
  • Speaker from Youth Work Ireland for some 6th Year classes Period 8 and 9

Tuesday 13th November- Tasty Tuesday

  • Speaker from Marie Keating Foundation to discuss cancer awareness
    • 10:20-11:00 – 6th Year female students
    • 11:15-11:55 – 6th Year male students in the library
  • Free samples of Soup from the Canteen in the Cafeteria at 1:15pm
  • Team Health Challenges: Class Cait Period 8 in B14 

Wednesday 14th November- Wacky Wednesday

  • “Comfy Casuals” non- uniform day for all students. All proceeds going to Jack O’ Driscoll Fund
  • Team Health Challenges: Class Brid Period 4 in Library
  • Staff Cookery Demo: guest chef Kate Lawlor; Healthy lunches and snack ideas 12:15- 1:15 in B12

Thursday 15th November- Timeout Thursday

  • Zeminar; a Wellbeing and Education Movement at the RDS, Dublin for Class 4.6 and YSI students
  • Masterchef of CCS competition 9- 11:15 in B13; Judged by guest chef Kate Lawlor
  • “Moments for Mindfulness” 5 minute time out session for whole school 10:55-11:00am
  • Free samples of Pasta Bake from the Canteen in the Cafeteria at 1:15pm

Friday 16th November- Feel Good Friday

  • “Feel Good Friday” music in the Cafeteria at 1:15 – 1:45pm
  • Staff versus Students Match in PE Hall at 1:15pm
  • Speaker Ian Murphy from ATP Fitness speaking on the importance of good nutrition, and physical fitness on our health for 5th year students in Library Periods 7 and 8
  • Team Health Challenges: Class Blaithnaid Period 2 and Class Deaglan Period 7 in the Library       

Running All Week:

  • “Active Assemblies” 1 minute of physical activity daily at assembly, all year groups
  • Reflection, Resilience and Mental Health workshops in all 1st year Wellbeing classes throughout the week
  • “Fun Circuits” for 2nd years in PE classes throughout the week in PE Hall
