On March 21st Carrigaline Community School is hosting a night of entertainment that promises to showcase both spectacular talent and that ‘feel good’ factor. CCS students and for the first time ever TEACHERS will strut their stuff for one night only to both entertain and hopefully win the title of ‘Carrig’s Got TALENT’. The show will take place in the Carrigaline Court Hotel, starting at 7.30 sharp. ‘We are hosting the event in the hotel to add that extra element of glamour to the night,’ said Ann O’Regan, teacher and member of the organising committee.
Over 40 students took part in the first leg of the auditions which happened weeks ago. Since then the 10 acts that made it through to the live show have been going through their paces. ‘We are expecting a fun-filled night with plenty of outstanding entertainment,’ said Ms. O’Regan. ‘The standard is exceptionally high and we have a great variety of acts that should appeal to everyone’. This year, for the first time since Carrig’s got Talent began in 2012, the teachers have decided to showcase their talent too!
A panel of three judges is made up of teachers, Mr. Declan Ryan (the Simon Cowell of the panel!) and Madame Cholbi plus former student and ‘Voice of Ireland’ contestant Shauna Nolan, who will also perform on the night. The audience will have a say too as they will each have one vote to put their favourite act forward.
Tickets at only €10 are available in the school this week and early next week, with a special offer of 5 tickets for €40 also available. Tickets can be purchased outside the main office of the school every day at 11am and 1.15pm. Parents may also buy tickets from the main office during office hours.
