100% Subject Choice Satisfaction for 2nd & 5th Years

For the 2017/2018 school year, one hundred percent of our 2^nd and 5^th Year students have obtained places in all of their first-choice subject options.

Students at CCS have free choice when it comes to choosing their option subjects, with no restrictions on the combinations they may choose.

5^th Year

5^th Year students take English, Irish and Maths as their core examination subjects, and choose a further four from the following list:

1. Physics
2. Chemistry
3. Biology
4. Accounting
5. Business
6. Economics
7. Geography
8. History
9. French
10. German
11. Music
12. Art
13. Design & Communication Graphics
14. Construction Studies
15. Home Economics
16. Engineering

Applied Maths is also available as an extra subject.

2^nd Year

Along with their core examination subjects of English, Irish, Maths, French/German*, History, Geography, Science and CSPE, students going into 2^nd Year for 2017/18 also chose three further subjects from the following options:

• Business Studies
• Materials Technology (Wood)
• Home Economics
• Technical Graphics
• Metalwork
• Music
• Art
• German* (Students who wish to study both French and German may do so)

Information evenings will be held for parents of 1^st Year, 3^rd Year and 4^th Year students in advance of their subject choices in early 2018.
