The latest from Carrigs’s Got TALENT
On March 14th CCS held its first ‘Carrig’s got TALENT’ in the Carrigaline Court Hotel.
“We are hosting the event in the hotel to add that extra element of glamour to the night” said one of the organisers
13 acts took to the stage on the night, those lucky enough to make the cut from the 50+ who auditioned in the first round.
With tickets sold out well in advance, there was a great air of anticipation and excitement in the crowd on the night.
We were treated to a great variety of performances from break dancing to beat box, the finest of guitar, violin and piano playing, topped off with wonderful singing, from both solo and group performers.
Our acts had to face an audience vote as well as the wrath of our Judging panel comprised of Teacher Mr Declan Ryan a.k.a Carrig’s very own Simon Cowell, student Eavan O’ Shea and our special guest judge on the night Conor J Ryan, recent participant in Ireland’s ‘The Voice’.
Congratulations to all our acts who took part, the standard was extremely high, they certainly didn’t disappoint on the night.
Special congratulations to our winner Shauna Nolan who sang ‘Ave Maria’ and Adam Doyle along with Katie O Shea who finished second and third respectively.
A special thanks Ms N McCarthy (Music) and Ms A O’ Regan (English & Drama) for their great effort organising the night and showcasing the great talent in CCS,
Also further thanks to the Art department under the guidance of Mr Lyons who did a great job with a special stage design for the night.
