All Ireland Basketball Tournament May 2011
The First Year girls’ basketball team at CCS had great success in the recent All Ireland Basketball Tournament. The girls were very excited having won the First Year ‘A’ Regional Final in Neptune Stadium, Cork recently. After this achievement they were thrilled to be going to the All Ireland Finals at University of Limerick last week.
On Saturday 7th May the girls played against St. Josephs Castleisland, Co. Kerry and Loretto, Beaufort, Co. Dublin. On Sunday they played Holy Faith, Dublin, St. Pauls, Galway and Oranmore, Galway. They reached the semi-finals of the competition, a wonderful achievement, and were presented with their bronze medals on the day. Well done to all involved and a special word of thanks to Mr. Marshall, Mr. Gargan, Ms. Buttimer and Ms. Crean for their support.
